Upon her arrival, she is welcomed by the village authorities and to stay with the village women's union. As time passes, she learns a lot more about the condition of the village and is determined to teach as many students as possible. Out of her interest in Laos history, she knows that there are unexploded landmines in the area, and so she decided to give her students some lectures on the impacts on their history and danger.
